So Suzy's Ink Bites and Babies

Friday, June 24, 2016

Hi!  Did the title get your curiosity?

Today I've got a card I made using the bonus June So Suzy Stamp a Month Stamp!  I needed a card for a baby shower and thought this stamp would be fun.

I wanted something simple, and  wanted to use Suzy's Ink Bites.  Don't forget you can use the code JANIS10 until the 30 of June for 10% off of ALL INK BITE SETS and STAMPS!

I started with a white A2 size card base. I cut blue and white cardstock using my Avery Elle Wonky Die set.  I stamped several starfish using different shades of brown; So Suzy Ink Bites Wild Whiskey, which is part of the Autumn Equinox set, So Suzy Ink Bites Egyptian Sand, part of the Coastal Breeze set,  So Suzy Ink Bites Rum Runner, part of the Summer Solstice set. I stamped two blue starfish in So Suzy Ink Bites Celestial Sky which is part of the Peacock Plumes set. I fussy cut one of the stars and added some dots made with Gloss Midnight Blue Nuvo Crystal Drops and attached it to the card with some foam tape.  I used the same  blue and white cardstock and the Wonky Die set to cut the banners.  Using my Mini Misti, I stamped the It's a Boy Stamp in Wild Whiskey. I cleaned off the stamp and re-inked it with Versa Mark and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I added two more enamel dots, and adhered it to the front of the card with foam tape.

June 2016 So Suzy Stamp A Month Release

Friday, June 10, 2016

Hi! It's release day at So Suzy Stamps!  This month we get a fun quote from one of my favorite Pirates!  Who doesn't love a little Jack Sparrow!  I'm fresh from a little Caribbean vacation myself.  Walking in that cool, soft, white sand is pretty relaxing, and those sunsets are to die for!  Here's the stamp.  Again, if you haven't joined this club,I don't know what you are waiting for!  Head on over to So Suzy's and sign up today!  Here's the stamp

This was a fun card to make!

  • I started with an A2 card base.  I used My Minds Eye By The Sea Collection paper. I had to settle for a whale - I couldn't find any scary sea creatures........
  • I cut the patterned paper with my Avery Elle Wonky Stitches Dies

  • I used Versa Mark ink and stamped the Jack Sparrow Sentiment, and used Nuvo Jet Black Embossing Powder from So Suzy's Store.  I love all of the Nuvo products! They are so fun to work with. Of course I used my Mini Misti to keep me in line.
  •
  • And of course you can't have a Pirate-themed quote without a pirate-themed beverage of choice, which is-----  So Suzy's Rum Stamp

  • I love an online store where you can type in the word RUM and up pops this cute bottle!  I stamped the bottles with Versa Mark and embossed with the same Jet Black Nuevo Embossing powder.
  • I added some foam tape to the bottles to give them a little dimension.
  •  And I finished it off with a piece of ribbon I found in my stash that matched pretty well. I love it when a plan comes together.
Suzanne is offering a special deal. Starting today until the 30thn of June , if you use my code JANIS10 at So Suzy Stamps you will get 10% off of ALL Ink Bites!  AND Stamps!!!!! Have I mentioned how much I love Suzy Ink bites?  And of course we all love the stamps! Long Time No Sea!!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!  I'm enjoying this stamp for the April Release at So Suzy Stamp of the Month Club.
Everyone has been making such great cards with this stamp!

One of the perks of being near the So Suzy Shop (other than getting to see SUZANNE in person!!!) is that she brought in one of her design team members Monica Taylor to share some of her techniques at a workshop.  I wanted to use the April stamp to make one of the cards Monica demonstrated during the class.  This is my first attempt:

Inside of Card

I stamped the image on buff cardstock using Mementos Rich Cocoa.  I was going for a vintage old fashioned post card kind of look, I took my Clarity brush and swiped it over some of my So Suzy Ink Bites (have I mentioned how much I love these inks!!!!!), wiped the brush on a paper towel to get rid of most of the color, and painted a little bit of Simply Sinful to the chair, some Wave Whisper to the water, a little hint of Mellow Mint on the palm leaves, added a few strokes of Rum Runner (because I love the name mainly) around a little, and finished the sun with some Sunflower Sue.  The paper is Graphic 45, By The Sea Collection. The idea of a Passport card (my interpretation of Monica's explanation) is to layer on things until you get it to look the way you want. I added a tab so you can turn the page, and glued some sea shells on to go with the sea theme.  The tag was cut from buff cardstock with a punch I have had for a while.  I inked the edges of the torn paper with my Rum Runner Ink Bite and glued them on the paper with some Tombow adhesive, and used my brayer to get the excess adhesive off.

It was a fun card to make!  Are you a member of the So Suzy Stamp a Month Club? I have seen a "sneaky peak" at some of the upcoming stamps.  You will love them!!! If you aren't a member yet, don't wait!  Head on over to So Suzy Stamp of the Month Club today and sign up!  Thanks for stopping by!

So Suzy April Stamp a Month Release!

Sunday, April 10, 2016

I love The sentiment on this month's stamp!  March might have come in like a lamb, but it certainly went out like a LION in our neck of the woods!! Sometimes living in a land-locked state makes me want to head for the water.  I think this stamp says it perfectly!  Suzy's stamps are the best!  Can't you just imagine yourself sitting in that chair watching the waves?

I stamped the image on PrimaWatercolor paper in Versa Mark and embossed it with black embossing powder. I pulled out my watercolors and gave it some color. The background paper is Graphic 45, and the edges of the paper were inked with So Suzy's Ink Bites in Wave Whisper.  I can't say enough about those inks!  I love having such a variety of colors available to choose from, and they are so reasonably priced! I finished it with some Hemptique twine and a button I had in my stash.    Don't wait, head on over to So Suzy Stamps and sign up for the Stamp a Month Club!  The sea is calling.......

So Suzy March Stamp a Month Card

Thursday, March 24, 2016

Hi! Today is my turn to show you another card made with the March 2016 So Suzy Stamp A Month Club Stamp!

Don't you just  love this month's Irish Proverb?

Suzy's Mermaid Ocean Stamp  is one of the first stamps I purchased  - I thought it went well with the SAM Going Coastal theme. I cut a piece of blue cardstock to A2 size, and stamped the Mermaid image  twice with Suzy's Ink Bites in Wave Whisper. The frames were cut with My Favorite Things Stitched Rectangle Dies and  the sentiment was stamped with Suzy's Ink Bites in Mango Marmalade. If you haven't tried these Ink Bites, you don't know what you are missing!  There are so many colors, and I love having them all at my fingertips!  I don't have to search for the right ink for my projects!   I added some Sunset Orange Double Click Skittles to finish the card. Don't you just love skittles!  They finish things off nicely I believe!  The paper is Graphic 45.  You can find these stamps and accessories at So Suzy's Online Store!

If you haven't joined the Stamp a Month Club, there is still time. You won't want to miss out on all of the fun, AND there is a contest going on over Suzy's for Club Members!  Don't forget to post your fabulous cards at So Suzy Stamps Flaunt It If You Made It!
Thanks for stopping by today!  See you next month!

How about a picture.....
